Some artistic photos from Edinburgh’s winter

I’d like to give special thanks to Kimonas for providing these photos…as i have said in the past everyone is welcomed to send me photos, articles he wrote himself or suggestions about new ideas you’d like to see covered.

For those who love the cold this is the perfect chance for an excursion to Arthur’s Seat. Its chilly but walkable and the frozen view will reward you for your trouble, by far one of Edinburgh’s most magnificent sightseeings.

Snow falls on Edinburgh…

Hello to all the lucky students still at Edinburgh

i have recently returned to Greece for the Christmas holidays but i managed to get a glance of the snow that kept falling all night at the 21th of December.

The other day i could not wait so i started walking around the town to see it from a close distance. All the pavement on Leith Walk was covered in ice and it was hilarious to see people sliding and falling all the time like we were playing hockey on bare foot. I fell 3 or 4 times and i almost crashed the Tesco glass on brunswick when i landed there with my feet hehe

After our long walk we reached waterloo and Princess Street where we faced a spectacular view of the Edinburgh Castle dressed in white and the glorious Princess Gardens hosting a Luna Park for the kids and their families, with dozens of little shops with candies, handmade art, food kiosks and hot punch for everyone. There was even a slating field for everyone who wanted to try his balance skills on ice.

After freezing our butts walking for 2 hours on the city center me and my gf discovered a cafeteria i had never noticed before because of the tram works that were going on in the area. The Starbucks branch on the first floor of princess street had a spectacular view of the gardens and the castle and a hot coffee after all this walking while in the same time enjoying the view was the best way for us to close our small walking trip.

I return on early January and i hope i find the same white landscape, Edinburgh is a beautiful town and it really gets even more fantastic when covered in snow as those white crystals fall and make the atmosphere so celebrating..

Happy Holidays to everyone and Merry Christmas
